Iran's N-Physics Conference opens in Mashhad
LONDON, February 23 (IranMania) -The inaugural ceremony of Iran's Nuclear Physics Conference, which opened in the provincial capital of Mashhad on Wednesday, was attended by more than 400 university instructors and students from across the country, IRNA reported.
During the two-day event, which has been arranged by Mashhad-based Ferdowsi University, 200 articles on nuclear physics, chemistry, fuel cycle and the industrial applications of nuclear technology will be presented either as lectures or posters.
Speaking at the inaugural ceremony, member of the faculty of Sharif Technical University, Mohammad-Baqer Ghofrani, said that given that nuclear issue is nowadays being commonly discussed by the Iranian community, the scientific circles and societies are bound to raise the public understanding in this respect.
"Gaining experience and expertise on nuclear technology and training the required manpower is our first priority in the sector.
"The application of nuclear energy in other fields including agriculture, medicine and industries is of second importance at the present time," he added.
Concerning Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant, he said that while the project has been underway and discussed for the past 30 years, nuclear technology has advanced in the world and the countries which got started in the domain simultaneously have so far made great progress.
